Bhubaneswar, June 2: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a 'Yellow' warning for hot and humid conditions in several Odisha districts, effective until June 7.
Districts such as Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Puri, Khurda, and Ganjam are expected to experience oppressive weather, particularly from June 3 to 5, with the possibility of extending to June 6–7 in some areas.
Dr. Manorama Mohanty of IMD Bhubaneswar stated that rising temperatures and high humidity will exacerbate heat stress, particularly in coastal regions. She advised people to stay hydrated, avoid sun exposure, and take heat safety measures.
While light to moderate rain may occur at a few spots, no major rainfall is forecast. The southwest monsoon has reached parts of southern Odisha, including Bhawanipatna and Puri.
