Bhubaneswar, May 27: Odisha Governor and Chancellor of state universities, Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati, has appointed Professor Jagneshwar Dandapat as the in-charge Vice-Chancellor of Utkal University, Bhubaneswar.
A notification issued by the Raj Bhavan on Tuesday confirmed that Prof. Dandapat will assume the role with immediate effect and continue until a regular Vice-Chancellor is appointed or until further notice.
Currently serving as the Head of the Department of Biotechnology at Utkal University, Prof. Dandapat has held the position since June 2020.
“The Chancellor of Utkal University has been pleased to appoint Prof. Jagneshwar Dandapat, Professor in Biotechnology, as the in-charge Vice-Chancellor of the University with immediate effect, until a new Vice-Chancellor assumes office or until further orders,” the official statement said.
