New Delhi, May 25: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that the ‘Operation Sindoor’ is a picture of a transforming India that is united against terrorism.
During his first ‘Mann Ki Baat’ address after Operation Sindoor, PM Modi said, "Today, the whole country stands together against terrorism. People are angry but also strong and determined. Every Indian is now focused on ending terrorism."
"During Operation Sindoor, our armed forces showed great courage, making every Indian proud. They carried out the mission with great skill and accurately destroyed terrorist hideouts across the border," he added.
PM Modi said that Operation Sindoor has brought new confidence and energy in the fight against terrorism, not just in India but around the world.
"Operation Sindoor is more than just a military mission. It shows our strong will, bravery, and the changing face of India. This mission has filled the whole country with a strong sense of patriotism and pride in our national flag,” he added.
PM Modi spoke about the videos showing young people in Chandigarh coming together to volunteer for the armed forces. He also mentioned the poems and songs created to show love for the country, and the paintings made by children to honour Operation Sindoor.
He said these gestures were very meaningful and showed the deep impact of the mission.
PM Modi said that Operation Sindoor has had a strong effect on people across the country.
“Many families have made it a part of their lives. In places like Katihar in Bihar and Kushinagar in Uttar Pradesh, as well as in other cities, people have even named their newborn babies ‘Sindoor’ to honour the operation,” he said.
Praising the Indian Armed Forces, PM Modi said, “Our soldiers showed great courage by destroying terrorist bases. They used weapons, equipment, and technology made in India, which shows the strength of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ (self-reliant India). This success was possible because of the hard work of our engineers, technicians, and many others.”
PM Modi said that after this mission, there is a new wave of support for the 'Vocal for Local' movement across the country.
He shared some touching examples: “Some parents said they will now only buy Made in India toys for their children to help build a sense of patriotism from a young age. Some families promised to spend their next vacation at a beautiful place within India. Many young people took a pledge to ‘Wed in India,’ meaning they will get married in the country. Others promised to give gifts made from Indian handicrafts,” he added.
PM Modi said, “India’s real strength is the emotional connection and involvement of its people. I ask everyone to take a pledge — whenever possible, choose products made in India. This isn’t just about being economically self-reliant, it’s about helping build our nation. Even a small step from us can make a big difference in India’s progress.”
