Bhubaneswar, June 16: Odisha government on Monday postponed the reopening of schools for the academic session after summer vacation from June 18 to June 20, 2025.
The School and Mass Education Department notified District Education Officers (DEOs) of the revised school reopening date through an official letter.
“In partial modification of the instructions, it is to inform you that the date of reopening of the schools may be read as 20.06.2025 instead of 18.06.2025. All other instructions communicated vide the letters shall stand as such,” the letter read.
The decision was made due to the current weather conditions, especially the high temperatures and the start of the monsoon season. Schools across the state will now reopen on June 20. The government has also instructed that mid-day meals be provided to students from the first day of reopening.
