Cuttack, June 17: With the susceptibility of the Gopalpur gang rape case in Odisha’s Ganjam district, the Director General of Police (DGP) on Tuesday ordered a CID-Crime Branch probe into the heinous incident.
Taking stock of the matter DGP, Odisha YB Khurania directed the Criminal Investigation Department (CID)- Crime Branch wing of the Crime Against Woman(CAW) & Children, to investigate into the crime.
Meanwhile, the Odisha government tagged the Gopalpur gang rape as a Red Flag case, in order to provide due & prompt justice to the victim, a 20-year woman who was allegedly gang raped by at least 10 persons including three minors, that to before her fiancé.
The gravity of the crime that took place last evening,drew everyone’s attention when the National Commission for Women (NCW) took a serious note and sought a report from the Odisha DGP today on it.
Worth mentioning, the youths picked the woman on the Gopalpur beach, took her to a secluded place, and forcefully outraged her modesty and brutally gang raped.
