Bhubaneswar, June 2: The number of COVID-19 cases in the state has risen to 15, with three new cases reported on Sunday. Previously, 12 individuals had tested positive for the virus. Dr. Neelakanth Mishra, the Director of Public Health, addressed the situation, assuring the public that the increase in cases has not been alarming.
Dr. Mishra emphasized that there is no need for panic, as only critical patients are currently being tested for COVID-19. Of the tests conducted, only a small number have returned positive results. He urged residents to remain cautious by avoiding crowded areas, wearing masks, using gloves when necessary, and regularly washing hands.
In related news, a review meeting will soon be held in Puri to discuss the upcoming Rath Yatra. The health department will present its recommendations during the meeting, and the state administration will take further action based on the discussions.
Dr. Mishra assured that necessary measures would be taken to ensure public safety during the event.
