According to Narayanan, 2025 will be a pivotal year for ISRO, with several important missions lined up, including Chandrayaan-4, Chandrayaan-5, and three unscrewed missions.

Narayanan attributed the failure of the PSLV-C61 mission to a drop in chamber pressure during the third stage of the launch, which affected the performance of the fourth stage. A national-level committee has been formed to investigate the cause of the pressure drop.

However, Narayanan pointed to ISRO’s past successes and reiterated his confidence in the organisation’s ability to overcome challenges. He emphasized that India’s space programme is making steady progress in ensuring food, water, and power security, and is preparing for the country’s first human spaceflight by 2027 under the 'Gaganyaan' programme.

The Gaganyaan programme represents a major milestone in India’s space exploration efforts, and ISRO is working diligently to achieve this goal. Narayanan's recent visit to the Central Toolroom and Training Centre (CTTC) in Bhubaneswar underlines the organisation’s commitment to advancing its technological capabilities and achieving its objectives.

The PSLV-C61 mission failure is a rare setback for ISRO, which has a strong track record of successful launches. The organisation is expected to recover from this setback and continue to make significant strides in space exploration and research.
