Bhadrak, June 9: Bhadrak district has been honoured with the first rank among all 30 districts of Odisha for its overall performance in revenue administration.
The award of a Certificate of Excellence was presented during the Revenue Officers’ Conference-cum-Workshop, held on June 4 and 5 at the Lok Seva Bhawan Convention Centre in Bhubaneswar. This two-day event was organised for the first time by the Revenue and Disaster Management Department.
Senior officials like Tahasildars, Sub-Collectors, and ADMs (Revenue) from across the state attended the event. The Chief Minister of Odisha, Mohan Charan Majhi, was present at the inaugural session, along with Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari and Additional Chief Secretary Deoranjan Kumar Singh.
The Chief Minister praised the efforts of revenue officers, saying they play a key role in delivering public services and ensuring the Odisha Right to Public Services Act (ORTPSA) is properly followed. He appreciated their hard work in strengthening governance at the grassroots level.
Districts were evaluated based on two main points:
1. How well they implemented the ORTPSA and delivered services on time
2. Their progress in updating the Record of Rights (RoR) — especially Column 2 correction, which helps keep land records accurate and transparent.
Bhadrak district performed best in both areas, showing great dedication in improving revenue work and service delivery
Santanu Kumar Mohanty, ADM (Revenue) of Bhadrak, accepted the award on behalf of Collector Dilip Routrai. He was joined by other officials from the district's revenue department.
This achievement is a proud moment for Bhadrak and sets an example for other districts in Odisha. It highlights the district’s commitment to efficient public service, proper record-keeping, and transparent administration.
