Mumbai, June 8: The comedy entertainer Housefull 5, starring Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, and Jacqueline Fernandez, has struck gold at the domestic box office, earning ₹56.73 crore nett within just two days of its release, according to an announcement by the film's makers on Sunday.
Directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced under Sajid Nadiadwala’s banner, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, the film hit theatres worldwide on Friday. The production house shared the impressive box office figures on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, accompanied by a poster featuring the film’s earnings.
On its opening day, Housefull 5 earned ₹24.35 crore nett, followed by a strong Saturday performance that brought in ₹32.38 crore nett. The substantial Saturday growth was boosted by the Eid al-Adha holiday, leading to housefull shows across many theatres.
Film critic Taran Adarsh posted on X:

In addition to the lead trio, the ensemble cast features Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Soundarya Sharma, Jackie Shroff, Fardeen Khan, and Sanjay Dutt.
Housefull 5 marks the fifth installment in the popular comedy franchise, which began in 2010. Previous entries were released in 2012, 2016, and 2019.
